Since we’ve been gone.. and why.

I haven’t posted or updated this site in a while for various reasons, the main one being because my pitbull Chena passed away in December. I haven’t been dealing with it very well, or talking about it to anyone, in fact I still can’t even look at pictures of her. She was 13 years old and had had diabetes for 6 years and recently started suffering from cushings disease which was really taking a toll on her, in addition to arthritis and the diabetes of course. We were trying to treat the cushings for about a month or 2 but her suffering and misery was so great, her health was only getting worse and she had started to wet herself almost constantly. Having been my dog for that entire 13 years, rescued at 6 months old, it was really hard for me to see her like this and after a particularly horrible weekend, christmas weekend, we took her in to put her to sleep on the 26th.
It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, the biggest loss I have ever had and I still cant talk about it and don’t enjoy writing about it, in fact. I will add a photo to this post and end it, then have another good cry.
Chena will continue to represent the site and be a face for Anti BSL advocacy for as long as I am alive.

miss you so much chena, more than you will ever know.

We know that sorrow, all too well.
13 years is about all we can hope for, very few dogs live any longer.
When we lose somebody, we never tell or talk for years, sometimes. It just hurts too much.
We need the state to adopt a law prohibiting breed specific legislation by counties, townships, village or cities. I think they did that in Florida. All states should.
Instead of fighting to oppose bsl leislation.
Fight to support anti-bsl legislation.
I’m so sorry for your loss. We appreciate everything that you do and understand not having the spirit to keep up with the posts…I hope that soon, your heart will heal, and that you will continue on, for your sake, and for Chena’s….
Please don’t upset yourself so much it is only the body that Chena resided in that has died .In Wiccan culture your animal friend can return to you in a year and a day plus the gestation period for their new body . So Chena can return to you in body quite easily and she is not GONE or dead ,simply the carcass she was in did’nt work any more .She wouldn’t want you to be sad like this .
Regards
Pru

She’s very beautiful! I’m so sorry for your loss, and I hope you are doing well. I stumbled across this site because someone on Fairyland commented someone’s garden saying they were making posters for ‘Anti breed specific legislation protest on Saturday in the UK’… Don’t know if that was you or one of your persons… but I still hope you’re doing well. :3
Hey, Thanks for the kind words. We weren’t associated with that protest but I wish I was there! Thanks for visiting the site!:D
