Shelby, Neuter your pets and they won’t get hormone crazy and run off, and when your dog goes missing. LOOK FOR IT. Glad you like the breed, Akitas have a chance of being banned too, but regardless, neuter and spay them all. There is no need for more puppies in the world and their personalities are much calmer and less hormone driven when they are fixed. Hormones are a constant nagging distraction and because they do not live in packs in the wild, its more torture to not neuter them than to do so.

I owned a pitbull and his name was mr. cunningham haha he was a character..unfortunately,when he began to realize what mating was about and ofcourse in the city you kno the dogcatcher probably got him:(but now i have an 8-wk-old akita named Cash,hes cute and he seems to be intelligent for a dog.my last akita “baloo” was GREAT,he was the smartest dog ive ever had (none of them hav been stupid), i hope that lil cash will have that same awesome personality and ability to understand how things work and what words mean.i dont agree with the ban of pits or the potential ban of akitas either,i think its irrational and quite unthoughtful.

Thats pretty horrible. The dogs threatened to be banned are awesome until bad people get ahold of them. Once people start holding owners responsible and not the dogs they will understand

I have a pit bull (Lillie) and she is the nicest and smartest dog I’ve ever meet or seen…..My nana and uncle used to have pit bulls to but some one hit them purposly on the high way.. their names where Spunky and Grace
